(Zaman Al Wasl)- After four months of Zaman al-Wasl's  exclusive report about oil ties between French Lafarge Cement company and ISIS, the veteran Le Monde published Tuesday a report assuring the involvement of Lafarge based on Zaman al-Wasl documents despite ignoring Zaman as main source.

The report that co-authored by 5 journalists has relied on Zaman al-Wasl report that revealed a confidential emails between senior administrators at Lafarge Cement Syria.

The emails clarified that Lafarge Syria dealt with ISIS and done contracts with ISIS to buy oil.

Zaman al-Wasl sent back then several questions to Frederic Jolibois, CEO at Lafarge Cement Syria regarding the documents, and he answered briefly saying “his company does not answer guesswork and rumors” confirming the company is “committed to U.N. resolutions”.

He added, “the security is our foremost priority and that’s why we suspended our trading and manufacturing activities in Syria since September 2014. Back then, Jalibeh, (160 Km away from Aleppo factory site of Lafarge Cement Syria in Ayn al-Arab north east of Aleppo) site was evacuated totally and our employees were banned officially from going there.”

Reuters got the same response when it tried to ask a spokesman from LafargeHolcim company about what Le Monde published based on Zaman al-Wasl documents.
The emails proved that Lafarge Syria bought oil from ISIS by knowledge and order from senior employees at the company starting with current and former president of Lafarge Syria.

Lafarge Syria paid millions to buy oil shipments required to run the factory. It also sold cement shipments to ISIS.

Lafarge Syria is owned by LafargeHolcim. The announcement of merge between Holcim and Lafarge in 2015 to give birth to the biggest producer of cement around the world running more than 2500 factories around the world.
