Egypt to deport Palestinian Refugees to Ecuador


  A well informed source revealed to Zaman Alwasl that Palestinians in Egypt are being deported to Ecuador because it does not require a visa for entry. This is brand new way of punishment and suffering Palestinians face. On the other hand, Syrians are deported to neighboring countries.

 Egyptian Authorities claimed that deportation comes as a response to repeated departures and migration on boats illegally from its territory, or for people who do not have a leave to remain or residency in Egypt.

 The source, an official of the National Coalition, confirmed that information came through Amin Kazkaz who works in AMERA Organization to protect refugees.

The organization has provided the national Coalition with very important and sensitive information after its visit to Alexandria, which considered the first official information for documentation.

 He handed Zaman Alwasl a full copy of this information in which it said that the total number of Syrians and Palestinians detained in al-Montazah police station reached to 173, besides 73 people are detained in the Abu Qir police station in Alexandria.

 There are 15 people detained at EIPICO police station in al-Bohairah city, 11 of them Syrians and 4 Palestinians from Syria.

In regard to the legal situation, the source said that the public prosecutor has issued an order to release all arrested people who were on the boat, but their release decision still at Egyptian national security.

 In regard to deportation, the source explained that there was an intention to deport some refugees who have many attempts to leave Egyptian territory illegally or who do not have valid visa or residency permit.

 The source confirmed the death of Omar Dallol who was shot dead while he was trying to leave Egyptian shore on a boat with other 200 Syrians and Palestinians. His pregnant wife and the two-year old son are still detained.

 The official of the National Coalition said that Syrians are deported to neighboring countries, while Palestinians deported to Ecuador because it is the only country does not require a Visa to enter.
