(Zaman Al Wasl)- General fear and resentment of locals in pro-regime areas in Latakia countryside are taking over since scores of villages in Jableh countryside underwent armed robbery by masked men.
Bayt Yashout News Network posted on Facebook calling for neighboring villages to take precaution after several incidents of armed robbery of private property and crops from orchards have taken place. They also called for forming committees of men and women to guard their villages.
Basel Barakat posted on his Facebook page news of armed group breaking in many houses whose residents have gone to work in their orchards. They stole electrical devices and placed them in a white truck adding that when the security personnel of the nearest checkpoint arrived to the scene, the masked men had left.
Adnan Hamishe commented on the post saying a similar group robbed fruits containers from one of the orchards and placed them in a white truck as well.
Jaafar Mohamed accused regime thugs and pro-regime so called Popular Committees of committing these crimes in coordination with security personnel on the checkpoint since according to him, “the security personnel cannot let them pass without getting their share of the loot.”
Jableh and al-Qurdaha in the Syrian coast witnessed an increase in armed robbery operations including shooting injuring people like what happened in Duhur Barakat village last week where a university student was injured by masked thieves fired at her when she tried to call the police.
The Syrian coast in general has been exposed to security chaos starting with killing and throwing the bodies in remote areas to bullying and harassing people in dark streets and remote villages. Recently, more armed robbery in midday is taking place like what happened in villages of Jableh in the past few days.
