8 people killed in Daraa in suicide bomb attack

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 8 people, including senior rebel commander, were killed in the southern province of Daraa when an ISIS suicide bomber blew himself up in Ankhel town.

The bomber belongs to the Islamic State-linked group, Khalid Bin al-Waleed Army that includes Liwa Shuhada al-Yarmouk and al-Muthanna Movement.

Local sources told Zaman al-Wasl that leader of the Revolutionary Council in Ankhel town Qasim Samir was among the victims as well as Husam Naster, the owner of the house, his wife, and his in-law were killed in addition to Waleed al-Uqleh and Abdul Kareen Nawas.

Initial reports indicate the suicide bomber is called Abu Hamza from ISIS affiliate LSY, sources said.

According to the local sources, many suicide bombings took place during Ramadan organized by ISIS affiliates in Daraa province such as assassination of leader of Ahfad Omar Brigade Mohamed Munjed al-Zamel, targeting checking point for al-Yarmouk Army in al-Sahweh town, bombing al-Ababeel Army warehouse in Jasem city, and bomb explosion in a mosque in Jasem as FSA personnel tried to dismantle it.

The Free Syrian Army stopped many attempts to bomb mosques in Naseeb, and Nawa towns in Daraa province few days ago and the executing cell was arrested. (Translation by Rana Abdul)
