Translation by Rana Abdul

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Twitter accounts affiliated with al-Nusra Front posted photos saying they are Syrian regime soldiers took as captives in western Qalamoun region in Damascus countryside.

The accounts said the soldiers were taken captives following a raid on the biggest regime military checkpoint in western Qalamoun. The photos and lootings were broadcasted via YouTube as well after an attack on al-Safa checkpoint in Rankous barren mountains in western Qalamoun.

The photos show 14 soldiers in regime forces including a fighter from Lebanese Hezbollah. Also, the photos show military vehicles and weapons looted during the attack.

The attack surprised the regime and Hezbollah mercenaries situated in western Qalamoun following a relatively long recession on that front. Media reports confirmed killing of 27 personnel and 14 taken as captives during the first hours of the attack while the rest fled the battle.`

Al-Safa checkpoint is situated on a high hill in a complex connecting a number of villages in the barren mountains of Qalamoun. Hence, capturing the checkpoint area gives a privilege over the site.

Social media websites and accounts affiliated with Hezbollah rushed to underestimate the attack and disclaimed the news of killing and captives in their ranks.

After regime media outlets disclaimed their loss in Qalamoun, pro-regime pages started to post names of personal and officers who were killed in Qalamoun including General Abdul Hamid Mahmoud Ahmad and Liutenant Fater Issa Fayad, Mahran Jaber Zaidan and Firas Midhat Omran.
