Activists tell Syrians suffering story in Istanbul squares

 

Tens of Turkish people and western tourists gathered around group of Syrian  who were impersonating the Syrian Suffering through their acts and gestures in the public square of Sultan Ahmed, tourism destination of Istanbul.

"Syria unites us" group, is a collection of activists in Turkey performed the show as part of a campaign to raise awareness toward  detainees in Syria and their sufferings yesterday on a day called  "Sunday for solidarity with Detainees", said Hasan, an activist and a member of the team.

Hassan added that they had organized many campaigns one of them "massacre without blood ", while yesterday and today’s campaign on Sunday for solidarity with detainees, aims to deliver Syrian detainees’ voices to the world, whose number  reach to around 300 thousand and no one knows how and where they live, beside many of them handed to their parents dead.

Hasan said that “Syria unites us” teams cooperates with activists in other countries by distributing manuals talk about the Syrian crisis in both English and Arabic, and they try to get help from other activists to interpret the show to passers- by in other languages..

Hasan explained that the idea of people with cuffed hands laying in Sultan Ahmed Square has drawn attention of many tourists and Turkish people.

Media activist, Anas al-Ajami, revealed to Zaman Alwasl that they a plan to organise a  big campaign called “thanks Turkey”

Ahmad Zaghlool, a former detainee, had a speech, translated into English, explained pain and sufferings of detainees in Syria.
