60 people killed in regime air strikes on Aleppo: activists

 (Zaman Al Wasl)- Death toll from deadly air strikes on northern Aleppo province rose to almost 60 people, local activists said Saturday as regime warplanes stepped up aerial offensive on rebel-held areas.

Regime strikes hit the neighborhoods of al-Maadi, al-Mughayer, Bab Hadid, Bab al-Nasr, Bab al-Neirab, Bab Qansrin, al-Mayser, al-Jazmati, al-Sukkari, al-Muwasalt, al-Salehin, al-Khalediya and al-Ferdous.

The aerial bombing have also hit Atarb town in the western countryside, killing 8 people and wounding 40 others.

In their turn, rebels have recaptured checkpoints they lost to the regime favor in Bani Zeid neighborhood, killing more than 25 soldiers.

Meanwhile, clashes are still underway in al-Layramoun, al-Mallah and Castello Road, the main supply route to rebel-held Aleppo.
