Dozens killed in Aleppo as regime forces step up aerial campaign

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 9 people have been killed on Sunday in regime air strikes on rebel-held areas in northern Aleppo province, local activists said as regime warplanes stepped up aerial offensive on rebel-held areas..

5 people, including 3 children and woman, were killed due to cluster bomb attack in al-Maysser neighborhood. More 4 people were also killed in Karm Homad neighborhood.

 Regime air strikes on Sunday hit Jisr al-Haj, al-Muasalat, Old Aleppo, al-Salheen, al-Sakhour, al-Haydarya, Masakin Hananou neighborhoods leaving scores of victims and injured.

Death toll from Saturday's deadly air strikes on northern Aleppo province rose to almost 60 people, according to activists.

Saturday's strikes hit the neighborhoods of al-Maadi, al-Mughayer, Bab Hadid, Bab al-Nasr, Bab al-Neirab, Bab Qansrin, al-Mayser, al-Jazmati, al-Sukkari, al-Muwasalt, al-Salehin, al-Khalediya and al-Ferdous.

 Sources close to Syrian Democratic Forces SDF reported their fighters capture of al-Nufus neighborhood and al-Rabet street in Manbij city following battles with ISIS.

Manbij Coordination Committee said 5 members of the family of Bahri Darqish were killed in the International Coalation air strikes targeting their house in Manbij while SDF militias arrested few persons in Buzkeej village north of Manbij.

In a related context, Local Coordination Committees said leader in Kurdish People’s Protection Units YPG Haval Ibrahim and Tishreen Dam official were killed with three guards east of the dam in ISIS suicide attack. ISIS affiliated Twitter accounts said the suicide attack killed 132 YPG personnel. (Translation by Rana Abdul)
