Latakia: Regime forces launch new attack to capture Kinsabba

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime forces backed by Russian jets launched new attack to recapture Kinsabba town in the coastal province of Latakia on Sunday, rebel commander said.

Powerful Conquest Army said on Sunday it has recaptured strategic Kinsabba town and nearby hilltops from regime forces after a counterattack carried out overnight, according to statement posted online.

On Saturday, regime forces backed by heavy aerial bombing regained control of Kinsabba, two weeks after losing it to rebels.

The Fatah Army or the Army of Conquest, including members of al-Qaida's branch in Syria, regained control of the town in July 1.

Regime forces first captured Kinsabba in February after it was held by rebels for weeks.
