4000 families stranded in Eastern Ghouta due to regime attacks: video


(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime violent attack recently on Marj town in the eastern suburbs of Damascus forced 4 thousand families to leave the area, local councils reported.

4 thousand families fled towards cities in depth of Eastern Ghouta district. Some were able to rent houses whereas the majority suffers outdoors.

The displaced are staying between iron of burned cars or unfit housing without windows, door, toilets or showers. They fled from al-Bahariye, al-Qasimye, Midaa, al-Atabiye towns without having their personal things with them.

Local councils said they are unable to meet the needs of these families because of unavailable funds whereas rebel factions said they are trying to secure shelters via civil administration and that this is out of their scope of work since their mission is to counter regime forces attempt to advance in Damascus countryside.

Activists confirmed they are trying to deliver messages to NGOs and UN which is out of the scene again. (Translation by Rana Abdul)
