(Zaman Al Wasl)- Mercenaries belonging to Bashar al-Assad’s sect committed what can be considered a massacre during which tens of members of the Murshidi sect were injured and killed according to witness statements from persons present at the time of the incident.
The sources special to Zaman al-Wasl revealed that the start of the massacre, the events of which the regime and its supporters censored, was on Thursday 14 July 2016 where members of the Murshidi sect were preparing for their only big celebration in the al-Ayadat al-Shamilet neighborhood in Homs which neighbors areas where Alawites reside.
The sources continued, members of the Murshidi sect were gathering financial and material support to send it to poor members of the sect in preparing for the celebration they call, ‘Joy in God celebration’. During this time while Murshidian men and women were gathering the assistance in an atmosphere which bordered on celebratory, one of the Alawi thugs (from the Wadi al-Dahab neighborhood) came amongst them and tried to flirt with some of the girls and harass them.
The Murshidian men and youths attacked the thug and beat him, so he responded by throwing a sound bomb at them and escaping in his car as he fired at those trying to catch him which led to the injury of a number of them.
The sources confirmed that the confrontation did not stop at this point but the situation became more tense and it widened in scope with the gathering or Murshidi persons demanding revenge. During this time a patrol arrived to assess the situation where it was a mix of regime intelligence members and regime thugs.
According to sources well informed about the facts of the massacre, a first lieutenant from the military security branch M.A. (Zaman al-Wasl withholds his real name) asked the Murshidian elders to accompany him to the head of the military intelligence branch in Homs, but the elders angrily refused to accompany him leading M.A. to curse the Murshidis god which is considered an unforgivable sin amongst Murshidis.
The sources continued, the first lieutenant swore against the Murshidi god for the Murshdians to attack him and his companions. They confronted one another using various weapons (fire arms and white weapons) for a number of dead to fall amongst the security personal and thug ranks in exchange for tens of Murshidis falling between killed and injured.
-Security Zone-
The sources estimated that the number of Murishdian dead is between 15-20 killed, other than 60 persons who suffered different injuries. Zaman al-Wasl managed to learn the identity of some of the Murshidis dead and amongst them 3 persons from Halawa family and they are, A, A, R other than Y.A who met his end while his brother Q received a severe injury that led to his paralysis. Zaman al-Wasl reserves the real names of all these victims.
Following the massacre, security apparatus backups encircled al-Ayadat neighborhood completely, the injured were moved to al-Nahdet hospital in Homs which was also encircled by security personal, amidst a situation of religious tension ignited by the thug from Wadi al-Dahab.
The tension extended to the village of Maryamin, one of the Murshidis strongholds in Homs’ countryside where the dead were moved to be buried. Mini bus drivers who work that road stopped work on Thursday and Friday leading to a general confusion at the principle station in the city of Masyaf leading to its semi closure.
The sources indicated that this confrontation between Murshidis and Alawites is perhaps the most violent in the past few years as it is normal for these confrontations to occur one in a while especially in light of the Alawite thugs’ overbearing and provocative behavior that the Murshidis cannot accept or remain silent about.
Our sources concluded by confirming that the situation is still tense in al-Ayadat al-Shamilat neighborhood, the Murshidis stronghold in Homs city and in the village of Maryamin where most of Murshidis living in Homs city are from. Wadi al-Dahab neighborhoods, where most of the Alawite mercenaries are located, is also tense as they try to feed to fire of revenge.
-The logs of conflict-
Murishdis, whose religion resembles no other in the world, belong to Sulayman al-Murshid who belonged to the Alawite religion and was born in Jawbat Burghal in Lattakia’s countryside. He was executed in 1946 to be succeeded by his son Moujib who launched Murshidi proselytism properly. He was killed in 1952 (disappeared according to Murshid religion).
Following Moujib, Saji his brother handled the sect’s affairs until 1998 when he died leaving Murshidis without a reference since he did not identify an imam to continue after him.
Murshidis consider that the day Moujibw took control and announced the Murshidi proselytization (25 August) as their sole holiday known as “happiness in Allah” where the celebrations extend for three days.
Although Hafiz al-Assad indicated to Murshidis as he did to other minorities that he is coming to end tyranny and protect them, but through his military and intelligence regime he committed acts of tyranny against Murshidis. He embroiled them into different conflicts most importantly is the conflict between him and his brother Rifaat in the 1980s for which Murshidis paid an expensive price in blood in return for maintaining the kingship of al-Assad.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bashar made Murshidis afraid of the revolution on the basis it is a Wahabi Salafi extremist revolution which in the event of its success would lead to their massacres.
He indicated to that there is no other option available to them than to support him in oppressing and killing the majority of the Syrian population, but facts on the ground betrayed Bashar and his regime’s lies as the events in al-Ayadat al-Shamilat demonstrates for true identity of those who want to slaughter them and end their existence.
