14 regime army soldiers held by Nusra Front freed: activists

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian activists accused Nusra Front of freeing 14 regime army troops in southern Daraa province early Tuesday as state media said they were released in surprise attack on Saida town in the eastern countryside.

Activists said the captive soldiers were in detention for over two years, assuming the release move came as Nusra prepares to disengage with al-Qaeda in order to avoid the international coalition air strikes and lessen wrath over its abuses in the rebel-held Syria.
