(Zaman al-Wasl)- In Syria's forgotten villages and cities of populations left to killing, displacement and destruction in silence. No reports to describe their plight and they do not pass in a breaking news piece on screens and websites.
They are forgetting in media, in relief, humanely forgetting, but they are with any doubt remembered by the barrels of cannons and air strikes from all sides.
Al-Sukhnah situated in the heart of Syrian Badiya is one of those forgotten cities in the east of Syria suffering from death, poverty, and neglect.
There, the regime and its mercenaries and Russian supporters try to attempt the theory of “fighting terrorism” even while targeting tens of thousands of lives and homes, even in their livestock which they see as their main income or perhaps their only income.
In mid May 2015, ISIS captured al-Sukhnah city and its surrounding from regime forces. From then, it captured the most important cities in Syrian Badiya, Palmyra before the regime recaptured it a year later. The regime then declared its determination to “track down terrorists” and “liberate” al-Shukhnah as it is a strategic area.
Since end of March 2016 when regime recaptured Palmyra, al-Sukhnah lives awaiting bombing and massacres by regime and Russians.
The people living there have been suffering these days ago as bombing by the two allies intensified over the city and its civil population under cover of “fighting terrorism”.
Zaman al-Wasl learned that Russian and regime bombings on al-Sukhnah and its surrounding has been repeated almost daily especially during the last 10 days. Also, warplanes targeted refugee camps in al-Taybeh village and the western outskirts subordinate to al-Amoor mountain which pushed many people living there to migrate again in another displacement experience with their families but towards al-Hamad area (as the attached footage shows which was sent to our newspaper).
In addition to scenes of destruction and displacement which do not find their way to the media, killing scenes encircle every soul.
At least 20 persons including a woman have been killed in the latest attacks by regime and Russian air strikes.
The Bedouin tribes were not left out of the bombing. They were targeted and their vehicles and livestock were bombed. A man, a woman and a child were killed and warplanes bombed 3 cars and destroyed it. One of the cars was carrying goats which led to a massacre in which many goats died.
Al-Taybeh, al-Kum, al-Hail, and al-Baghali vilalges are explosed to semi daily bombing whereas regime forces and its mercenaries try to advance towards al-Sukhneh through the west southern side where battles are ongoing on Palmyra-al-Sukhneh road near the silos area and Arak oil field.
