Assad regime and Russia extend aerial campaign on Aleppo

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Russian warplanes renewed raids on Aleppo countryside targeting few towns with vacuum and cluster missiles.

The raids extended to besieged neighborhoods in Aleppo city targeting medical and civil facilities, local sources said.

Zaman al-Wasl reporter in Aleppo said the Russian warplanes targeted Kafar Naha, Kafar Jum, Qubtan al-Jabal in Aleppo western countryside with vaccum missiles. The bombings also hit al-Huda field hospital in Hour town causing big material damages in the building and putting it out of service.

İn a related context, Syrian Civil Defense SCD Directorate in Aleppo announced on Sunday emergency state and increased preparedness to the highest level. SCD asked civilians not to gather for their own safety fearing regime will target them suspended their work.

This came hours after Adnan hospital was destroyed in Aleppo northern countryside after it was targeted with umbrellas carrying explosive missiles. The hospital is out of service now.

The directorate warned in a statement what they called the deception of regime and its Russian ally regarding the false humanitarian corridors pointing out they documented one civilians martyr on Saturday as he was crossing to regime areas through Salah al-Din accusing regime sniper of killing him as he was heading to the “humanitarian corridor.”

The Province Council in Free Aleppo said in the statement published on Facebook the regime promotes rumors of rebels and citizens surrendering to it. The council said this is totally a slander and psychological war in which regime tries to lessen pressure on its supporters who circulated news that rebels are going to launch a military campaign which will force regime to withdraw from Aleppo as it did in Idlib.

The council warned the residents of besieged neighborhoods that their leaving and nearing cross points which regime claimed open and safe will put their life in risk reminding them that regime had killed whoever came close to the cross points before.

The council concluded, “the siege will not be long, Aleppo is the mother of men, war is attack and retreat. The oppressors and tyrants will not succeed.”
