(The Daily Star)- A Syrian refugee burned to death Monday after her tent caught fire in northeast Lebanon, state media reported.
The National News Agency said Zahra Abdelsaleh suffered severe burns after her tent caught fire at a refugee camp in Masharih al-Qaa.
She later succumbed to her wounds, the report said, adding that her body was transferred to the Hermel Government Hospital.
No other details of the incident were provided.
Such incidents are not uncommon. Last month, a blaze destroyed large parts of a Syrian camp in the east Lebanon town of Taanayel, injuring three people.
More than 1 million Syrian refugees live in dreadful conditions in camps along Lebanon's northern and eastern borders.
