(Zaman al-Wasl)- Spokesman of powerful Ahrar al-Sham movement said “the situation in Aleppo is good and and the determination high," as rebels launch major offensive to break regime siege on the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo.
Abu Yousef al-Muhajir said in the first day we could finish the first phase and move on to the next. 7 points were finished and they are al-Hikma school, Tal Muetta, Taleh Uhud, Talet al-Firdus, Talet al-Mahaba, series of al-Sabqiyya barricades and we were able to advance on al-Huayza barricades.”
He added that in the first day, the battle extended on 20 km of width then moved to the second phase. Following the dinner of the first day, we finished 1070 residential complex called al-Naser neighborhood. in the second day, we completed the second phase by liberating Talet al-Shurta and advanced on the gas station and other points.
Regarding what happened later, Abu Yousef al-Muhajir said, “the regime encircled us and recaptured the gas station, the residential complex, and al-Amirya village. Today Wednesday is the third day and we recaptured these points and captured new ones including Taraf al-Baradat area. Tomorrow, the last phase will be announced and the start of a new battle to break the blockade.”
Regarding the captives, al-Muhajir confirmed that all the ones taken captives are 12 mostly Syrians and no Iranians.
Concerning the battle “today is your day Aleppo” launched by rebels in Hama southern countryside and Homs northern countryside, al-Muhajir said, “the rebels working there are the same ones participating in Aleppo battle.
Ahrar al-Sham fights in Zara as well as Fateh al-Sham and FSA and they are the components of Jaish al-Fateh. So, all the big factions extended all over Syria has a joint military council and the plan is studied jointly in agreement between all provinces.”
Al-Muhajir praised the battle “Today is your day Aleppo “and the achievements fulfilled.
Regarding Daraa, al-Muhajir hinted that Hawran was supposed to witness start of battle today confirming at the same time, there are many young men from Hawran fighting in Aleppo battle.
