Syrian refugee girl kidnapped in Istanbul: activists

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A Syrian refugee girl is missing after she left her work in one of the workshops in Istanbul in the afternoon on Saturday, activists said.

The girl’s mother posted the news on social media on her Facebook page Gula Efrine, that her daughter went out during her break at the workshop and has been missing since. The mother indicated that she went to a number of police stations and they insinuated that her daughter may have been kidnapped without mentioning who kidnapped her or the kidnappers,’ motives.

In turn, the activist Shiro Olo one of the girl’s relatives revealed to Zaman al-Wasl that the girl named Fatima Omar is 17 years old from the village of Koverdan subordinate to Efrin city. She was kidnapped Saturday evening in Avcilar area in Istanbul during the lunch break at Merkez Mahallesi Bagcilar Istanbul workshop where she worked alongside her mother and sister.

Her mother tried to telephone her only to find her mobile phone closed, and our speaker indicated “the preliminary investigations from the police in the area suggest it is a kidnapping operation committed by an unknown side.” Our speaker said, “there are some details relating to the kidnapping but he will not mention them waiting to see how things progress.”
