(Zaman al-Wasl)- Three senior commanders from the First Coastal Division have been killed in clashes with regime forces in Kansabba and Shalaf villages in Jabal al-Akrad in the past two days, activists said.
The military leader Mohamed Waliu in Liwa al-Asifa brigade and the military leader Fadi Betar in the third brigade in addition to the Akram Umahan in the first battalion. The First Coastal Division and other fighting rebel factions in Latakia countryside mourned the leaders with several fighters killed in Kansabba battles.
In the time when some fear the negative effect of leaders’ killing on the field performance of the First Coastal Division, defected General Ahmad Rahal said the Syrian revolution will give birth to more leaders and he excluded that the fighting performance will decrease with leaders’ martyrdom.
Rahal told Zaman al-Wasl the leadership of battalions and factions in Free Syrian Army FSA are fighting beside their colleague and this gives their colleagues experience in fighting in military planning that qualify them to take over leadership if someone was killed.
The First Coastal Division lost its chief of staff and military leader Basel Zimo in November 2015, but the division recovered from the loss and the best evidence is its success with other factions in launching a big battle and achieving important victories recently.
