Aleppo: Regime suffers as main supply route blocked by resistance forces

(Zaman al-Wasl)- Syrian resistance factions forced Syrian regime forces to change supplies road connecting to Aleppo city after they captured al-Ramouseh highway pushing regime to use Castello soil road to reach Khanaser and al-Safira to connect Aleppo city with Damascus, Latakia and Hama provinces.

Relief source in regime-controlled areas told Zaman al-Wasl the length of the new road doubles al-Ramoush road. The road from al-Safira to Aleppo entrance via al-Ramouseh is about 25 Km while the current road from al-Safira to Aleppo via Shayhan is approximately 62 Km.

Human rights advocate Alaa al-Sayid posted on Facebook describing the road as safe pointing out it needs repair and paving since it is a soil road meaning it will drown with water in winter leading to cutting it eventually.

Al-Sayid indicated the presence of checkpoints blackmailing food trucks crossing to Aleppo city. He observed buses transporting people on the road.
Syrian resistance factions had indicated they cut the regime supply road Friday in Khanaser after Jaish al-Naser and al-Bayan Movement captured Gazelles reservoir.

However, leader in Jaish al-Naser Rasheed Abu Abdo told Zaman al-Wasl the factions had to withdraw from the reservoir due to intense air strikes saying the road is observed via heavy weapons which are not used due to its inaccurate targets.

Although Assad pro-regime media channels confirmed availability of supply road to the city, but prices in regime-controlled areas remained high, according to local sources.

Mahmoud Abu Aasi from al-Neel street in Aleppo said, “the vegetables and fruit prices remained the same. Tomatoes and legumes rocked nearly 500 SP per kilo while a kilo of lamb meat rocked 4000 SP.”

Also, most drivers in the city complained of regime thugs control of gas stations and refusing to supply fuel and many are forced to buy fuel from black market in al-Safira where one liter of Diesel reaches 700 SP.

As it seems prices in regime-controlled area will remain rocking as long as resistance factions hold onto upcoming phases of battles confirming they intend to liberate Aleppo and expel regime forces from the city.
