Islam Army launches new attack on regime forces in Eastern Qalamoun

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Powerful Islam Army group said Sunday the second phase of the battle “Zaat al-Rikaa” has been started, targeting Syrian regime locations in the Eastern Qalamoon northeast of  Damascus.

The army clarified the suicide bombers infiltrated to Artillery Faculty via Damascus-Baghdad international road and killed tens of regime soldiers there capturing individual and heavy weapons.

Also, the army destroyed an ammunition warehouse in the battle and targeted a cannon of 23 titers on Abu al-Shamaat hill.

Jaish al-Islam, or Islam Army,  has recently changed its combat tactics using ambushes and raiding to strike regime forces in their locations and kill the biggest number possible to withdraw from the locations without capturing and controlling the locations, a method used by most Syrian resistance factions.

Return to this tactic seems to be a way to counter lack of weapons and to concentrate on increasing loss of human capital for regime instead of liberating areas and expelling regime from them.

The raiding method in the first phase of the battle announced few days ago manifested in attacking regime points in strategic Marj al-Sultan killing more than 28 regime personnel and looting weapons and ammunition.
