Hasaka: PYD arrests Kurdish leaders, ISIS attacks SDF sites

(Zaman Al Wasl)- militants of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) have arrested many Kurdish leaders and activists in the Northern countryside of Hasaka, while a car bomb exploded near al-Shadadi, claimed to be for the Islamic State.

Activist Mahmood al-Ahmed from Qamishli city revealed that Asayish militias, the armed wing of PYD have arrested many leaders and supporters of the Kurdish National Council after participating in the funeral of fighter belonged to Peshmerga in Syria that fights the Islamic State in Iraq.

Al-Ahmed detailed that tension took place between supporters of PYD from one side and the Kurdish National Council form the other during the funeral, while Asayish militias prevented the funeral from passing through their barrier at the village of Khan al-Jabal.

The activist explained that Asayish militia has arrested, Hassan Ibrahim Saleh, deputy secretary of the Kurdish party “Yeketi”, Abdullah Sarhan Caddo, a member of the Central Committee of Yeketi party, besides Alan Salim Ahmed, and Farhan Hassan from the same party, after participating in the funeral. Al-Ahmed added that Asayish militia has arrested Mohammed Ismail Nashaat Zaza, Salih jamil, Abdul-Karim Haji and Nafe’a Abdullah, the leaders n the Kurdistan Democratic party in Syria.

An armed group of PYD had abducted Ibrahim Berro, Head of the Kurdish National Council, in Qamishli before banishing him to Kurdistan.

The Islamic State had attacked sites of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the village of al-Azawi Southern of al-Shadadi, by a car bomb, according to the activist, who detailed that a huge explosion happened, indicating the big amount of explosives in the car.

The Islamic State had announced via Amaq news, its official news agency, that 6 members of the Kurdish units, SDF were killed by an operation of its fighters who sneaked near the mountain of Abdul-Aziz Southern-west of Hasaka.

Many forces share controlling Hasaka province: People Protection Units (YPG), the armed wing of PYD which control the widest area of the province, while the Syrian regime control the security areas and military bases and dozens of villages around Hasaka and Qamishli, while the Islamic State controls only the town of Markada, its last stronghold.
