(Zaman Al Wasl)- Southern Sweida province is under unprecedented difficult conditions at all levels, especially lack of water, electricity, fuel and internet, added to regression in the security levels.
In regard to water, pumping water into general networks has reached to its lowest levels, which implies additional expenses on people who need to buy water for drinking and using in household, many families cannot afford for those expenses.
As a response to lack of water, many facebook activists arranged a sit-in at the entrance of Water Corporation under caption “became smelly with lice”.
People of Sweida are not convinced of reasons regime uses to justify lack of water, such as lack of fuel, or targeting water pumps by armed groups and rebels. “regime has enough fuel for its tanks and aircraft those kill Syrian people, but does not have few barrels to run water pump, regime can put hundreds of members to guard its security and intelligence branches, but cannot allocate a member or two to protect public institutions”, a civilian in Sweida mentioned.
Electricity is not in better condition, people ultimate dream now is to have a schedule of hours of cutting-off, even if that included a whole day, they want to organise their lives.
Internet service is getting worse in Sweida as it has been disconnected for 10 days without any attempt of the regime’s communication corporation to fix or inspect the matter.
Al kind of vehicles have to queue for long time to get few litres of benzene or diesel from petrol stations. People sometimes buy fuel as twice as usual price.
The security situation in Sweida is deteriorating with widespread of real armed gangs of criminals who have been armed by the Syrian regime then they targeted innocent civilians. Gangs practice looting, abduction and put their barriers anywhere they want without any fear of the government.
The bleak situation in Sweida now is too annoying to people, but they afraid that situation is the beginning of bleaker and harder conditions turning Sweida into a stricken city, even without the need to regime's explosive barrels and aircraft bombing.
