Usain Bolt becomes Olympic immortal as Jamaica wins 4x100m relay gold

(CNN)- Usain Bolt confirmed his status as one of the greatest Olympic athletes of all-time Friday as he anchored Jamaica to 4x100-meter relay gold at Rio 2016.
The triumph was the final leg of Bolt's much vaunted "triple-triple" of gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m events at three successive Games.

Bolt will turn 30 on Sunday, and has said the relay will be the last time he appears at an Olympic Games.

If it is to be the last time he graces the world's greatest sporting stage, he made sure he left it with an abiding memory.

Taking the baton from Nickel Ashmeade after Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake had made the early running, Bolt surged home to record a time of 37.27 ahead of Japan in second and the USA in third.
