(Zaman Al Wasl) On the 21st of August 2013 at 2:31 am while the people of al-Ghouta were sleeping, the field hospitals prepared for the wounded after the bombing of several cities and towns and usually the civil defense is on alert to remove bodies from under the rubble, but this time the bombing was quiet and so death.
Perhaps there is no new, as a massacre salutes the memory of a massacre. Today’s massacre is burning napalm and barrels burying bodies under the rubble while yesterday’s massacre is chemical raising souls above the rubble quietly, without color, without blood, but with the smell of chlorine and the suffocating sarin gas that kills the human nervous system.
The massacre exhausted hospitals' supplies of Atropine and Hydrocortisone which increased the number of victims to two thousand, and the day did not end its tragedy as the following day civilians, fighters, photographers, and medics were martyred but if the analysis or evaluation about mentality or criminal treachery or holding onto the inheritance was different…. As what the dictator father did not dare do, the dictator son did and justice has come not here… and the political effect of the massacre went after the American administration’s inaction, and the perpetrator remained at large but the human effect remains, and 21 August 2013 remains engraved in Syrians memories as the day an unprecedented massacre happened and there is no talk as it is not wise to ask if the massacre has an effect… we must ask for how long the effect of no one caring will remain a sentence repeated in Saqba, Kafr Batna, Jisreen, Douma, Hamouryah, Irbin, Romouj, Zamalka, Ein Tarma, and the 2000 Syrian martyrs who were asleep.
