Daraa's Justice Court threatens to uprise against Muk Operations Room

(Zaman al-Wasl)- Head of Justice Court in southern Daraa province said Syrians who uprised agianst the Syrian regime have also the ability to stand against al-Muk military operations room.

Mutasim al-Absi clarified in a statement to Zaman al-Wasl the court does not oppose supporting the room if there is no movement against the revolution inside it, adding that the problem is not in al-Muk, but in the factions which receives fund and does not have real will.

“We came out against an oppressive authority that ruled us for more than 40 years with iron and fire and al-Muk will not be more powerful than the authority which we came out against. Who loves slavery cannot be a free person,” he said.

When asked about the court opinion regarding the halt of fighting in the southern fronts and security chaos in the liberated areas in the south, he responded, “there are good things that are being prepared for and I cannot share them now.

But regarding the security chaos, it is because factions are busy with fighting the regime and as our master Omar bin al-Khatab said, “these hands were created to work. If they were not busy doing good deeds, they would be busy doing bad ones.”

Regarding the relation between the court and the faction, al-Absi said the court stands on a similar distance from all factions whether they signed on the executive power or not. But the executive power is demanded from the factions which signed by the court.

He added, the court role is to resolve internal conflicts between the factions if there is any and then put them in front of the court. He stressed that if a leader in faction committed a criminal act, it depends on the faction he is affiliated with. We have leaders of factions in the court prison because of a felony, but some refuse to be under trial of the court. He clarified that they are not in a stable state now and it is the state of the developing countries in which putting officials under rule of judiciary is not something easy.

Regarding how the court commits a faction to court in case there are a lot of complains, al-Absi said there are two ways; the first is to make a sentence in abstention in the right of the person, and the second is to demand factions which signed on the court pacts to force the person to put himself under trial and if it is requested, a battle might be started to force the person.

Al-Absi confirmed that the case of assassination of Sheikh Usama al-Yateem, former chief of the court, and his deputy chief Bashar al-Kamil by al-Muthanna movement because of the court stand towards ISIS since the court issued a decision to fight ISIS last year.

Al-Absi mentioned that al-Muthanna movement withdrew from the court after the decision and then committed several assassinations. Al-Muthanna movement is considered today one of the most important formations of ISIS in the south manifested in Khalid bin al-Waleed army, according to activists.

Regarding trade of weapons and drugs, al-Absi said, “regarding trade of weapons, the court issued a decision and now there are more than 15 arms traders in the court prison. Our work on this issue demands more support from the factions which signed our pacts because most arms traders work under coverage of factions. Arms trade now has to be authorized by the court. But regarding drug trade, we founded field groups to track down poison traders which is considered one of the ugliest weapons that Assad regime is using against us. We will work hard to empty the liberated areas form this poison.”

Justice Court was founded in Daraa province in November 2014. The project aims to establish a judiciary power to resolve internal conflict and enforce law which is missed in the Syrian south today.
