(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian resistance factions mad new advances in Hama province on Wednesday, taking Soran town from Syrian regime locations there, local sources reported.
Resistance factions have killed scores of regime fighters in the battle launched last Monday in northern Hama province. The factions liberated Hilfaya, Tayba al-Imam and strategic Soran on Damascus-Aleppo highway. On the other hand, regime and Russian jet fighter struck liberated areas without any civilians’ loss.
Field and military sources said the resistance fighters started the major offensive in surrounding of Soran and overran al-Makatib checkpoint and surrounding points. Fierce clashes took place inside Soran and regime forces withdrew to Zain al-Abedeen mountain whereas sporadic clashes took place on outskirts of al-Naseriye liberated village as the regime failed to storm it.
