Syrian Swimmer Ibrahim al-Hussein to participate in Rio Paralympics


(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Syrian swimmer Ibrahim al-Hussein is participating in the Paralympics in Rio De Janeiro from the disabled, under Greece flag.

Al-Hussein lost his lower limb during rescuing operation in
in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.  He also used to suffer some injuries sustained during participating in demonstrations.

Al-Hussein has sought asylum in Greece and proved himself in swimming, which encouraged the Olympic Committee to choose him in participate in the Paralympics competitions for the disabled, but he Naturalisation was not finalised, which pushed the Olympic committee to request his participation under the flag of Greece, which is going to happen.

Al-Hussein confirmed to Zaman Al Wasl that his Participation in the Paralympics is very important to him, and it is not just recording his name, but he will do his best to win a medal.

He mentioned that he has the second place in Greece championship and the first place in Athens competition, confirming that time he reached to enables him to be in first places in the Paralympics.

The Syrian swimmer revealed that he is leaving to Brazil this Thursday, requesting Syrians to wish him good luck.
