Rebels of Mouadamiya town to leave over Russian deal

(Zaman al-Wasl)- Syrian regime and negotiation committee via Russian mediation agreed that rebels will evacuate Mouadammiya town in Damascus, activists said.

The move 10 days after the evacuation of sister town Daraya, one of the longest-standing of the uprising against Bashar al-Assad.

Information available reveals the final session of negotiation took 6 hours attended by locals’ representatives in the committee and a security officer from army fourth division in addition to Russian officers.

The agreement clauses state the regime will open roads to those who want to exit to Idlib and whoever wants to remain has to surrender his weapon.
Monday will be the deadline to provide list of those who want to leave to the regime and the final date to surrender weapons.

Mouadamiya had sighed a limited local truce with regime in late 2013, allowing aid to enter the suburb in return for a halt to fighting.
