YPG evacuates 3 villages, forces mandatory conscription

(Zaman Al Wasl)- People’s Protection units (YPG) the armed wing of Democratic Union party (PYD) has Wednesday warned 3 villages in Southern countryside of Hasaka to evacuate them without explaining reasons, besides warning young men to join the mandatory conscription. 

Local sources reported that Kurdish militias of YPG , the armed wing of PYD have evacuated people from their houses in the villages of al-Hamra and al-Awis, Southern West of Shadadi while only few people stayed in their houses.

Sources added that YPG have warned people of Bosalman village to leave their houses without any reason, just mentioning that due to their closeness to frontline with the Islamic State. 

In a relevant content, YPG have given notices to all young men in the Southern east countryside of Hasaka, aged between 18 and 30 to join the mandatory conscription and implement the self-defense order, and gave them a period between September 6-24 to attend conscription centres, according to activist Ahmed al-Ali. 

The activist added that people’s living conditions are getting worse due to deterioration of security and service conditions in most areas of Southern countryside, due to lack of job opportunity and disconnection of mobile and landline phones and taking away the space mobile phone for security reasons, according to claims of PYD’s members. Added to devising control of Shadadi area between the Islamic State and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) that restrict people’s movement between areas. 

Moreover, according to al-Ali, many houses were demolished and blown-up in the town of al-Khatoniyah within al-Hol town claiming that the area was a stronghold for the Islamic State (ISIS) 

Militias of the Democratic Union party (PYD) have during the last two years evacuated dozens of villages in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka and burned houses in more than 5 villages in the Western countryside of Hasaka, besides destroying olive fields in the town of al-Manajir claiming that people in those villages cooperated with the terrorists. 

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) led by PYD have control February 2016 the areas of Shadadi and al-Arisha within a military campaign against the Islamic State called “Khabour Anger” with the help of US-led alliance airstrike, which played the essential role in victory.
