(Zaman Al Wasl)- Moscow said on Tuesday that has set up mobile observation posts in the area of Castello road in Aleppo with the aim of supplying the Russian Center for Reconciliation with information about the situation of the road and what breaches of the ceasefire might occur.
The mobile observation posts will send daily information to the Center for Reconciliation located in Hmeimeem airport in Latakia countryside and which is considered a Russian base where the al-Assad regime have no authority.
Russian media source indicated the arrival of aid from Russia on Thursday and its passage via the Castello road.
Sergei Kabitsin, the deputy director of the Russian Center for Reconciliation considered the Castello road, “a passage for fighters to leave the eastern part of Aleppo of those who decide to stop fighting and hand over their weapons,”
confirming that the road is closely monitored as part of the American Russian ceasefire deal which was announced on the 9th of this month.
Kabitsin indicated that Castello road is the main route to get humanitarian shipments into Aleppo, and that work is ongoing to set up posts for the Syrian Red Crescent to move humanitarian aid shipments into the eastern and western parts of Aleppo.
The Russians say the regime is willing to withdraw to a particular distance from the Castello road with the condition that the moderate opposition make a similar move.
