Eid festivities sneak into Yarmouk Camp, ISIS prohibits children’s games

(Zaman al-Wasl) The regime and Islamic State siege did not succeed in preventing the Eid celebratory atmosphere, even a minimum level of it, from sneaking into al-Rejih Square in Yarmouk camp for besieged children to regain something from their childhood during Eid by playing with swings and other games despite their scarcity.

Al-Rejih Square is besieged by the Palestinian militias and the al-Assad forces from one side and Islamic State forces from another side. The Islamic State prohibits swings and children’s games from being set up in al-Hajar al-Aswad its main headquarters, parts of Yarmouk camp and al-Tadamoun neighborhood, according to Zaman al-Wasl’s reporter in the area.

Our reporter confirmed that the Islamic State prohibits the entry of food products except in small amounts to the areas under al-Sham Fatih Front’s control where tens of civilian families and Front members’ families are living.

Zaman al-Wasl’s reporter stated that al-Owroba checkpoint that separates the areas under Islamic State control from those of the revolutionary factions, “witnessed a lot of movement of families and children heading from areas under Islamic State control to three towns Babbila, Beit Sahm and Yalda,” controlled by the revolutionary factions because of the absence of Eid al-Adha celebratory atmosphere in their areas based on the Islamic State’s prohibition.
