Homs: children spend Eid underground due to Russia and Assad bombing


(Zaman Al Wasl)- Most children in the Northern countryside of Homs have not felt the joy of Eid, as they were not put in new clothes or bought sweet, they did not go to funfair or swings, they only played in streets of their neighborhoods and heard stories from they parents about ceremonies of Eid before the war.

Zaman Al Wasl correspondent reported that children in Rastan and Talbisah have spent the first day of Eid in shelters due to regime's and Russian warplane shelling.
In the second day of Eid when the cessation of hostility truce was put In effect, children felt safe and get out playing in streets, but without any sign of Eid such as sweet, new clothes and funfair square or even special food.

Activist Abo Faisal explained that children in Homs have forgotten what Eid means, and what its ceremonies and traditions are, during the four year of siege forced by the Syrian regime.

Abo Abdul-Rahman, a psychologist described children’s situation in the Northern and North-Western countryside of Homs as “the worst among all age groups” highlighting that they need food and milk to maintain their growth at least. He reminded that besieging civilians and children in particular is a war crime.
