(Zaman Al Wasl)- Russian air force enhanced military presence in al-Shuayrat airport, east of Homs, during Eid al-Adha with 4 helicopters of mi-28 type known as night hunter and transport helicopter of mi-8 type in addition to 50-men commandos group, source from inside the regime reported to Zaman al-Wasl.
The source said it’s likely the Russian special forces aim to implement air landings on these helicopters for several necessary things for the military presence in al-Shuayrat and Ti-four airports including destroying a target in the mountain areas not reached by vehicles and arrest of enemy personnel in addition to occupying important points and planting observing devices.
The Russian air force had previously deployed a squadron consisting of 12 helicopters of mi-24 in al-Shuayrat airport last February to participate in Palmyra battles against ISIS back then. The squadron is still functioning from al-Shuayrat and Ti-four until now.
