Sources to "Zaman Alwasl" denied what was confirmed to our newspaper by General Mustafa Sheikh regarding reach an agreement between the Kurds and the rebels, the sources pointed out that the rebels are still besieging city of Afrin and neighboring villages.
The sources talked about consensus among
the Islamic brigades, Free Syrian Army and the revolutionary forces to
"cleansing" the Kurdish area form Shabiha, Assad's militia.
In the same context, activists said to "Zaman
Alwasl" that "Asayish" pro-Assad Kurdish Militia in Afrin
arrested large number of activists on charges of dealing with FSA. This
coincided with a wave of displacement in the city of Afrin and the surrounding
villages because of soar of prices for food and basic needs as result of rebels
siege of these areas.
Field sources, also, said that clashes
still going on between FSA and joint Kurdish-Shiite Militias in Aleppo
countryside.
It is noteworthy that several initiatives
have emerged in the past few days to resolve the crisis between the rebels and
the Kurds, but it all came to a standstill so far.
