Hanna Singer, the United Nations UNICEF representative in Syria said, “the intense attacks launched on Thursday evening destroyed the Bab al-Nairab water pump station which provided 250 thousand persons in the eastern parts of Aleppo with water.”
She confirmed that, “denying children water subjects them to catastrophic danger such as exposure to contagious diseases transferred through water, adds to their suffering, and their feelings of fear and terror.”
Singer called for all the conflicting actors to stop attacks on the water infrastructure, facilitate reaching the Bab al-Nairab station to assess the damages and repair them for the pump to start working once more.
