(Zaman Al Wasl)- Armed groups subordinate to Kurdish Union Party (PYD) launched arrest campaign during the past two days of young men in southern countryside of Hasaka and local sources reported detainees exchange deal between PYD and ISIS.
Activist Mahmoud al-Ahmad said the armed groups launched arrest campaigns in al-Shadadi town to recruit young men by force in the PYD ranks against ISIS, pointing out mobile network and landlines are still cut and PYD banned space net in the town under pretext of security reasons leading families to travel to Hasaka center to use phone and internet.
The activist added the deteriorating economic conditions in light of unemployment in addition to arrest campaigns of young men between 18 and 30 of age contributed to immigration of youth to neighboring countries especially Turkey. He indicated that opening road between Ayn al-Arab and Jarablus across Manbij made it easier for migrants to move to Aleppo countryside without passing through ISIS-controlled areas.
Al-Ahmad confirmed the detainees’ exchange deal between ISIS and PYD released 9 PYD persons who arrived in Ayn al-Arab in Aleppo countryside on Saturday while PYD released a group of ISIS prisoners who were detained in a special prison.
The activist reported from local sources that among the released there were local personnel from southern Hasaka countryside.
A detainee exchange deal took place in last April between ISIS and Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) alliance via prominent local figures which included release of 4 personnel from each side in addition to a body of Russian soldier who was killed in Palmyra in clashes with ISIS.
Control in Hasaka province is divided between PYD with larges area and regime forces while ISIS controls Markada, the last ISIS stronghold south of the province.
