Four people, including three policemen, were killed in a shooting attack in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a microbus in North Sinai’s city of Arish, an Egyptian security source told Anadolu Agency.
“Three policemen and the driver were killed,” the source added anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media.
According to the source, the assailants seized weapons of the slain policemen and fled the scene unscathed.
Egyptian authorities have yet to issue a statement on the attack, for which no group has yet claimed responsibility.
Egypt has been battling an insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula amid militant attacks that mainly targeted security forces.
