Hama: rebels take new village in northeastern countryside

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rebels on Wednesday have taken new village in the northeastern countryside of Hama province after heavy clashes with regime forces and militias, activists said.

Al-Jnaina village was the fifth village fell to rebels favor in two days.

On Tuesday rebels seized control of 4 villages of Cahera, al-Sha’atha and Tal-Aswad and Ras al-Ayn, where many members of the regime and militias were killed and two ammunition trucks and a BMB vehicle were destroyed, the opposition gained two tanks and amount of ammunition.

The armed opposition has Monday controlled the factory of Sugar and train station southern of the village of Kabara, north of Hama, as a part of the operation started in the beginning of the month trying to reach to Hama city.

In mid-2014, the Syrian regime was forced to deploy units known as the Tiger Forces, commanded by Air Force Intelligence officer Suheil al-Hassan, to stop the advance of the armed opposition on the city of Hama.

After 5 years of multi-sided war started in peaceful demonstrations, 500,000 thousand people have been killed and 11 million, half of Syria's pre-war population, have been displaced.
