Regime forces escalate attacks on Damascus western suburb

 (Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime forces on Saturday have escalated their offensive on the western suburbs of the capital, saying it wants to clear rebel pockets in area close to predominantly Alawite district, activist said.

The clashes took place in Qudsaya and al-Hama town
, 7 km (5 miles) west of Damascus. Regime forces has encircled the area, making it in complete isolation, pro-regime media said.

Activists said Rebels of al-Hama have thwarted regime attack that started 5 days ago.


Bashar al-Assad's forces have brutally pounded the rebel-held areas that surrounds Damascus and have also reached fragile truces in other ares to make its 'safe zone'.
