Syrian regime, Russia launch aerial offensive on Western Ghouta using cluster bombs

(Zaman Al Wasl)- One civilian has been killed and dozen injured on Monday in regime and Russian air strikes on the Palestinian Khan al-Sheeh camp in the capital's Western Ghouta suburbs, Local Coordination Committees said Monday.

Russian warplanes have conducted 8 raids on the camp using cluster ammunition, the local monitor said.

Also, warplanes renewed bombing on al-Deir Khabiya town in western Damascus countryside in conjunction with a missile and artillery bombing by regime forces on the area.

Revolution coordination counted 36 explosive barrels dropped by regime warplanes on Khan al-Sheeh and Deir Khabiye and Maqlibe in western Ghouta during the past 24 hours.

Local Council in Khan al-Sheeh said the regime forces located in 137 Division launched two land-land missiles towards Maqlibe valley in conjunction with targeting the area with 6 explosive barrels.

On Sunday, 3 people were killed and 20 more people wounded in al-Wadi and Deir Khabiya when regime warplanes hit the towns with 30 barrel bombs, Western Ghouta Media Center said.

At least half million Syrians have been killed by the Syrian regime, Russia and Shiite militias since the revolution erupted in March 2011.
