Damascus: General Court bans forcibly evacuate for people can't pay their houses' rent

(Eqtsad)- General Court of south Damascus issued a decree on Sunday to ban collecting houses’ rent and banning evacuating the forcibly displaced in these houses unless with obvious criteria and a system that is implemented on everyone.

In a special statement to Zaman al-Wasl, the secretary of the court Abu Taim Febrayr said this step is a precautionary procedure to stand against whoever wants to separate between the populations of the same community south of Damascus.

He added that so far no cases were recorded of investing in the houses except for some cases which take low rents from the renters.

The decree will be implemented since day of issue.

The secretary added that “linking housing offices in the local councils to towns of Yalda, Babyla, Bayt Saham and the security points with the general court is an institutional link to help enforce any law issued by the court in the future especially that southern Damascus region is entering a new phase of administrative systematization.”

The General Court was formed in July 2016 following agreement of the military and civil forces working south of Damascus.
