Damascus: Regime launches offensive on Hameh suburb in a Daraya-like scenario

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Hama Local Council confirmed that regime forces and its supporting militias bombed al-Ayoon area which hosts around 4000 families.

The council demanded stop of bombing and ceasefire to stop spill of blood and destruction. Revolution Coordinate in Hama in Damascus suburb said the town was bombed on Tuesday with Elephant missiles following a sit-in in the town whereas road separating between Hameh and Qudsaya known as Beirut road was bombed with explosive barrels.

In the afternoon of Tuesday careful quiet took over the town while regime snipers remained positioned around the town targeting civilians in al-Shamiye area which led to several casualties and burned houses with explosive bullets.

Media Office in Hameh said the town suffers from a severe shortage of medical and food items which led families to eat one meal a day.

Activists circulated news on Saturday saying an agreement to evacuate 400 rebels with their families from Qudsaya and Hameh is underway.

They indicated the agreement clauses state to secure rebels’ exit and regime entrance in any case of insecurity incidents accompanied by truce committee.

On the other hand, Revolution Coordinate in Hameh pointed out that a committee from town residents communicate with the regime and said the regime puts crippling conditions to find a solution and after the committee negotiations, they arrived to an acceptable state. The rebels accepted the clauses to respond to families’ needs; still regime did not stop bombing the town.

Syrian National Coalition (SNC) condemned the regime and allies’ violations of international law. SNC member Suhair al-Atassi said forced displacement and demographic change operations continue using internationally prohibited weapons and starvation by enforcing blockade on rebelling areas.

She considered they have warned of these repeated crimes which regime uses as an alternative to negotiations which are sponsored by the International Community.

The negotiation’s delegate member said that what is happening is beyond being a humanitarian dossier, but became a sovereignty one and it violates Syria’s unity and draws on the dividing Syria.
