Aleppo: rebel-held streets to have martyrs names

The walls of the embattled Aleppo have become a place for freedom of expression through the expressive drawings and paintings, in addition to being a place to commemorate the martyrs.

Rebel council in liberated areas of Aleppo has launched new initiative to naming the streets by Martyrs' names, ''who scarified their soul to get freedom,'' Council said.

The street naming is to illuminate the martyrdom, '' Abu Mahiou, a member in the local council of Salah al-Din neighborhood in Aleppo told Zaman Alwasl.

''Our initiative has a significant impact on the families of the martyrs to make people proud of their sons when they see their names on the slum walls, Mahiou added.
