(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime warplanes backed by Russian jets have bombed liberated areas in Hama and Idlib provinces, hours after Jund al-Aqsa group merged with Fateh al-Sham Front, activists said on Sunday.
Military source confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that regime forces and sectarian militias have advanced from the northeastern countryside of Hama toward liberated fronts in the north, taking advantages of the conflict between Ahrar al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa.
The source mentioned that resistance's formations have killed dozens of regime’s forces and militias and destroyed many heavy vehicles, recording the biggest loss since mid last month.
Regime’s forces have recently launched a heavy attack at eastern countryside of Hama and controlled many villages.
in a surprising initiative, Jund al-Aqsa formation that kept its clashes with Harakat Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib, has announced Friday its complete unity with Jabhat Fatah al-Sham.
Harakat Fatah al-Sham has declared in a statement surfaced on social media that Jund al-Aqsa has announced its complete unity with them in order to stop fighting with Ahrar al-Sham, and forwarding all disagreement between both of them to a court supervised by Harakat Fatah al-Sham.
Recently, heavy clashes have broken out between Jund al-Aqsa and harakat Ahrar al-Sham, led to many losses and killing, among them Mohammed Munir, the commander in Ahrar al-sham in Jabal al-Zawiya.
The armed opposition has started a battle northern of Hama in the beginning of September aimed at relieving pressure on opposition forces in Aleppo besides liberating the city of Hama.
In mid-2014, the Syrian regime was forced to deploy units known as the Tiger Forces, commanded by Air Force Intelligence officer Suheil al-Hassan, to stop the advance of the armed opposition on the city of Hama.
After 5 years of multi-sided war, more than 470 thousand people have been killed and 12 million, half of Syria's pre-war population, have forced to leave their houses, 4.8 million have fled the country, and 6.6 million have become internally displaced by the violence, according to the UN.
