Imad al-Karrad, the commander of Homs al-Waleed Brigade, was assassinated by two gunmen riding motorbike in the village of Tal-Shihab in southern Daraa province, sources said Thursday.

Al-Karrad was born in the Old City of Daraa, known as Daraa al-Balad, graduated from the Aviation college 1986, defected from regime forces in early time of the Syrian revolution in 2011.

Mid 2013, the brigade of Homs al-Waleed was founded in Daraa as an appreciation for the sacrifices of Homs city, which included Horan rebels, special forces, Syouf Horan, Asood al-Yarmouk, Maghawir al-Janoub and al-Zubair bin al-Awam.
