(Zaman Al Wasl)- 600 Free Syrian Army fighters with their families, who left two western suburbs of Damascus on Thursday, have arrived to the northern Idlib province, almost a month since the regime army has waged major offensive on Qudsaya and al-Hamah, seeking to clear out all rebel pockets surrounding the capital, local activists said.
1287 people was the number of first batch leaving Qudsaya and al-Hamah, according to the negotiation committee.
Buses lined up on Thursday along the road connecting the two areas in preparation for the evacuees to board them following a deal undertaken with the regime similar to the many other forceful displacement agreements.
The regime has focused in the recent period on speeding up ‘reconciliation agreements’ which include forced displacement without caring for the demands or reports issued by legal rights organizations or human rights defenders warning of the gravity of this issue and demanding its halting.
Idlib province serves as the first and almost only destination for all the people the regime has forcefully displaced as the only province completely outside regime and Islamic State control.
No details have emerged about the clauses of the agreement undertaken between Qudsaya and al-Hamah. There is also no information about the number of people who will be forcefully displaced as a result of this agreement.
