Activists, political figures launch initiative to unite opposition forces, protect revolution


(Zaman Al Wasl)- A group of Syrian activists, military, civil and political figures have launched “Syrian Salvation Project”, a project to unite the revolutionary work, amid the disappointment rebels have from the international community and the weak representation of the revolution outside Syria.

The project bases on three main directions: uniting the Free Syrian Army, uniting and organizing the civil work in liberated areas, and uniting all the revolutionary forces inside and outside Syria to activate real representation of the revolution.

The project has started real steps, away from the external projects and supporters’ manipulation, reaching to complete independency of the political decision, overthrowing the regime of Bashar al-Assad, and building an independent country fulfil the revolution goals of freedom, justice, dignity and equality, beside uniting the Syrian land and people.

Part of practical steps of the project was a meeting between representatives of the Political Body of the Syrian Revolutionary forces and Syrian Peace Current, in which they agreed on a principles and action paper, which could be circulated to all other forces, civil, political or military to be the core for a new start in order to return the revolution to its correct track, according to Lawyer Tariq Haj Bakri, a representative of the Political Body of the Syrian revolution Forces.

The two sides, called in the meeting all political, military and civil forces to unite in order to prove themselves on ground, locally and internationally.

The two sides: the Syrian Peace current and the Political Body of the Syrian Revolutionary Forces signed the document. The Revolution Youth Coalition declared agreement on its content, and Abdul Qader Bakkar, Deputy head of Coalition, signed it.

Signatories on the paper aim it would find acceptance and agreement by all revolutionary forces.
