Document: Baath Party armed battalions in Homs equal a military brigade

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Huge number of Baath Party members are recruited in armed battalions formed by Homs provincial Baath branch. Zaman al-Wasl obtained a survey stating that the number of those recruited reached 4281 members making up almost a military brigade.

The document shows that Baath Party Tal Kalakh office has the biggest number where the number of those who joined the Baath battalions reached 803. Al-Mukharam office seconds Tal Khalakh with 475 joiners whereas the least number is in al-Sukhneh office with 41, the document obtained by Zaman al-Wasl shows.

These are not the final numbers for the recruited Baath members in the armed battalions since huge number of retired army officers and senior civilians joined the battalions for a monthly compensation of 10000 SP in addition to a significant number of volunteers.

The battalions takes the mission of establishing checkpoints in Homs Province and participates in fighting with regime army according to needs and demands.

Also, the document states that Education Directory participates with 362 teachers to support the thugs.
