(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime forces backed by heavy aerial bombing on Thursday launched major offensive on the town of Soran in Hama province, activist said.
The regime helicopters have droped more than 80 barrel bombs on the town that controlled by Jaish al-Izzah which claimed killing of 9 soldiers south of Soran.
Jaish al-Izzah, on its Twitter account, said that its fighters had attacked regime strongholds in the towns of Maedis, Kawkab and al-Kabaraih with grad missiles.
The raids have also hit towns of Tybat al-Imam, Kafr Zaita, Morek and al-Latamneh.
in next-door province of Homs, the resistance lost 4 of its officers on Wednesday in the northern countryside.
Statements released by Faylaq Homs and Tahrir Watan movement clarified that Colonel Shauqi Ayoub, head of planning in Homs Faylaq and lieutenant colonel Faisal Awad, head of signal department were killed during a pilot tour on one of the fronts in Homs northern countryside.
The statements added that brigadier-general Mahmoud Ayoub, the military advisor of the general leader for Faylaq Homs, and first lieutenant Hazem al-Ashtar were killed during a raid targeted the funeral of Shauqi and Awad.
This comes days after two leaders from Faylaq Homs were exposed to an assassination operation near Talbiyse in northern Homs countryside which critically injured one of them.
Faylaq Homs was formed two years ago and is one of the military divisions in Homs Northern Countryside Operation Room.
Near the capital, at least 8 civilians have been killed in regime's heavy artillery shelling on the city of Douma, northeast of Damascus, activists said Thursday.
Dozens were also wounded as regime offensive that begun late on Wednesday, targeting the civil neighborhoods and the crews of Civil Defense rescuing group.
In its turn, the Syrian resistance factions operating in southern Damascus suburbs have clashed with regime forces and allied Palestinian militia late on Wednesday, killing three soldiers.
The clashes took place in the besieged Yarmouk refuge camp and al-Tadhamon district, local reporter said.
The regime army has pounded the camp with heavy the artillery and mortar fire, reducing many buildings to rubble.
The southern districts of the capital have been held by the Islamic State, Jaish al-Islam, Free Syrian Army, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and small pockets by the regime.
