Turkey hits dozens of ISIS, PYD targets near border

5Zaman Al Wasl- AA)- The Turkish army has hit 92 ISIS and a PYD target in northern Syria the Turkish military said Thursday.

Thursday's strikes were part of Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield launched in late August to clear the northern Syrian border area of terrorists. It is now in its 79th day.

According to Turkish Armed Forces, Free Syrian Army gained control of the village Ash Shaykh Alwan of the Al-Rai town Wednesday.

More gains were achieved early Thursday FSA by taking control of villages of Zamka and Musaibeen on the gates of ISIS-stronghold of al-Bab city in Aleppo province.

The statement said two ISIS fighters were "neutralized" and a bomb-laden vehicle annihilated while four opposition fighters were martyred and seven others injured during Wednesday’s clashes.

In total, 36 mines and 1,489 improvised explosives have been defused since the start of the operation.

Turkey-backed opposition forces have also cleared over 1,500 square kilometers (579 square miles) of ISIS militants in northern Syria, including 186 residential areas.
